The Talabardon & Gautier Gallery has been firmly established in the Paris and international landscape since 1992. It has become a reference and even a driving force in the art market by putting the spotlight on singular works and artists. Symbolically, on March 21 and 23, the sale of part of its stock will take place during the Salon du Dessin, which Bertrand Gautier and Bertrand Talabardon founded in 1999. Nearly 300 lots with a total estimate of €5 M will be sold by Ader. "This event is not just a dealers’ sale: it’s a tribute to all those who do this job with a genuine love for their work. We are driven by the same passion and the same search for quality in works," says auctioneer Xavier Dominique. True to their way of working, the two gallery owners have selected paintings, drawings and, to a lesser degree, sculptures, all impeccably presented in a catalog with detailed descriptions. Though the 19th century was their favorite period (they started the rediscovery of landscape artists who worked from life, and the Troubadour painters), Old Masters will also be much in evidence.
