Robert FALCUCCI (1900-1989) Nickel-plated bronze - H. 17 cm mounted on wooden base Signed Falcucci Robert FALCUCCI is best known for his graphic work as a poster artist, with many of his advertisements appearing in Omnia, Automobilia, Fémina, Vogue and L'Illustration magazines. In 1927, he left Renault's design studios to join those of the famous couturier Paul Poiret in 1928. In the early 1930s, the artist excelled at designing posters for major automobile events such as the Monaco Grand-Prix and the Monte Carlo Automobile Rally. In addition to this impressive body of work, the artist also turned his hand to creating an automobile mascot. This radiator cap, known as the "Parrot", was featured on the front cover of the Omnia automobile magazine in October 1926, on the occasion of the XXth Paris Motor Show. From a set of several pieces of nickel-plated bronze the artist created a triumphant parrot with protruding wings, in true Art-deco style.
