Large rapier
Wrought iron mount. Watermarked iron fuse (later). Spherical onion-shaped pommel with jointed arch and two long straight quillons with twisted decoration. Hemispherical shell finely decorated with birds on a leafy background, all chased and pierced with daylight. Beautiful blade with gutter at the heel, partly engraved.
Italy, 17th century.
