Lot of 20 animal-themed jewelry drawings on tracing paper in pencil and polychrome gouache, including a plate of turtle pin or brooches with shells adorned with turquoise cabochons, two brooch designs featuring dogs, including a German shepherd with a diamond collar, five "birds on a branch" brooch designs with plumage accented with multicolored stones, thirteen brooch designs of "birds of paradise" with outstretched wings, the body simulated by a large blue cabochon, the heads in onyx or set with diamonds, very close to Sterlé designs, and one brooch design of a "horse's head", the mane in gold and wood bearing traces of gummed manufacture and a Sterlé dry stamp. Paul TOUZET, a designer and jeweler active from the 1940s to the 1970s, worked, according to family tradition, for the houses of VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, BOUCHERON and STERLE. He is also said to have worked with Georges BRAQUE and Jean COCTEAU on their jewelry. His creations are typical of French and Parisian jewelry production during the Trente Glorieuses. Expert: Alexandre Léger.
