Footnotes: Provenance: Property from a private collection, Paris Acquired directly from the Artist by the above Hala Ezzedine was born in 1989 in Ersal, a village located on the border of Lebanon and Syria. She obtained a master's degree in plastic arts at the Lebanese University in 2014. From 2011 to 2016, she taught drawing to children at a public school in Ersal, among whom were many refugees, whose families had fled the Syrian civil conflict. She has been living and working in Beirut since 2018. A sensitive observer of her environment, she paints the landscapes of her native region and especially the poignant portraits of the children who worked in her classes, then of those, anonymous, whom she meets in the streets, among the most deprived (Shahd, 2020) . Each child with a sad face testifies, in his paintings, to human misery, to desolation, without giving in to misery. Following the explosions of August 4, 2020, she painted the chaotic cityscapes of Beirut (Dance with Death, 2020). Ezzeddine's pictorial writing is expressionist, furiously expressionist. By looking at his canvases, executed with large furious brushstrokes, in bright and contrasting colors, where the subject stands out against a background of abstract neutrality. His ferocious energy translates the chaos that surrounds him. She was the winner of the Boghossian Prize (2015) and the First Generation Orient Prize (2016) which crowns the best artist of the year.
