Portrait of A Man, Facing Left, With A Quill and a Sheet of Paper, c. 1527 is expected to fetch between $3M and $5M at auction in January 2023. Earlier this year the work had been returned by the German government to the heirs of Munich-based art collector Isle Hesselberger. Proceeds from the sale will go to charity.
