Published on , by La Gazette Drouot

The oil paintings are a self-portrait by Pietro Bellotti from 1665, and a portrait of a boy by the Dutch artist Samuel van Hoogstraten of unknown date. Police say a 64-year-old man found the works last month at a rest stop near Ohrbach in central Germany and handed them to the police in Cologne. (The Painting Daily)
