Work Bought for $90,000 as a “Chagall” Could be Destroyed as a Fake

Collector Stephanie Clegg bought the work Le couple au bouquet de fleurs from Sotheby’s in 1994 for $90,000, when it was listed as being by Marc Chagall. It had since been appraised by them at $100,000, but was recently sent to an expert panel in France who have declared it as fake and want it destroyed. (NYT)
