After a first opus last year (June 6, 2023), the Giquello auction house is back at it again with the dispersal of some fifteen works whose only common denominator is... diversity.

As the creator of this scholarly drawing citing both Roman and Egyptian mythologies was none other than Hubert Robert, its estimate was roundly crushed.

Exploring multiple fields of creation, this second sale delivered some golden results, from Jacques Lipchitz and Hubert Robert to Claude François— setting the stage for a third edition.

Until July 3, Eric Coatalem presents "Hubert Robert, from Rome to Paris," an exhibition of more than 50 works by the painter that is part of the new "Parcours de la Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré", initiated by the Coatalem, Perrin and Sarti galleries. It will also feature a set of drawings by Fragonard.

Son of antique dealer Didier Aaron and brother of Hervé Aaron, who chaired the Syndicat national des antiquaires and the Salon du dessin, Olivier Aaron was a leading figure on the Paris market. He died on 25 November 2018.
