The Chinese monochrome porcelain collection owned by this Hong Kong patron and collector is one of the finest in the world. Part of this remarkable collection is now on show at the Musée National des Arts Asiatiques-Guimet.

On March 8, the British Richard Saltoun Gallery will inaugurate its new space in Rome in the historic Via Margutta, known as the “street of artists”. The first exhibition will celebrate the career of Mozambique-Italian activist and pioneer of contemporary African painting Bertina Lopes (1924-2012).

Some €50,000/80,000 will be needed for The Yellow Sound, a series of 91 gouache and graphite drawings by the Danish painter Richard Mortensen (1910-1993).

The Gordon Parks Foundation has announced three new fellows for 2022. They include textile artist Bisa Butler, photographer Andre D. Wagner, and scholar and curator Nicole R. Fleetwood. Each fellow will receive $25,000 to support “projects examining themes of representation and social justice”.

The RM053 DLC is a unique piece made by Richard Mille for the Argentinian polo player Pablo Mac Donough, who is considered the world’s greatest player. The watch is designed for the needs of a sport both elegant and violent.

Free and open to all, the collection will be on display from today until October 31, 2021. Curated for the ninth year by Clare Lilley, the 2021 edition features the works of international artists including Ibrahim El-Salahi, Isamu Noguchi, Solange Pessoa and Rose Wylie. (FRIEZE)

Claire Lilley has been appointed the new director of Yorkshire Sculpture Park, England, thus replacing the founding director Peter Murray, who will be retiring in March after 45 years in charge. Lilley joined YSP in 1991 and will become the 500-acre-park’s second-ever director.

The furniture designer, whose collections for Knoll refined American interiors and produced novel contemporary outdoor furniture, has produced some of the classics of modern design, including the Leisure Collection, the Wire Mesh Chaise and the Petal Table, which won the design award from Industrial Magazine in 1960.
