Under the authority of digital interior magazine Dezeen, design institutions get together for the Virtual Design Festival, starting April 15 until June 30. Partners include London Serpentine Galleries, Lisbon's MAAT museum, San Francisco Design Week, the Dutch Design Week, or Designer Ron Arad, among others.

Large parts of the late Karl Lagerfeld’s estate are being auctioned in Monaco December 3-5, and Paris, December 14-15. Galella died at home of congestive heart failure on April 30. Beginning his career in the 1960s, he became famous for his photos of celebrities, with whom he was not always popular: Jackie Onassis sued him and Marlon Brando punched him. Artist Ron Gorchov, known for his vivid, distinct saddle-shaped canvases, has died at age 90. Gorchov was a self-described “abstract surrealist” who had his breakout in 1960 with his participation in a group show at the Whitney Museum and a solo exhibition at the Tibor de Nagy Gallery according to ArtForum.

Ron Gittins, who passed in 2019, left behind a rented flat decorated from floor to ceiling with artworks. The hall resembles an Egyptian tomb, and the kitchen houses a Roman altar. In the next few weeks fundraising efforts are being held to save the art haven in Birkenhead, from being lost forever. (Guardian)
