A sale with a charm offensive with pure diamonds and imaginative creations by Suzanne Belperron.

Around ten pieces of jewellery by Suzanne Belperron owned by a trailblazer, one of the first women to become a senior civil servant.

In the early 20th century, women entered the world of jewelry, establishing it firmly in modernity.

Jewelers rival each other in originality, combining materials in exquisite shades.

The institution, which holds the most important collection of Suzanne Valadon works (1865-1938), according to its director Chiara Parisi (Qda), is preparing for an "ambitious" exhibition dedicated to the artist in Spring 2023. "A World of One's Own" will question "the resolutely contemporary character of the work".

Even in the genre of still life, Suzanne Valadon’s paintings are distinctive, colorful, well-constructed and vibrant.

A new exhibition room opened to the public, on October 22, in the Vallauris ceramics museum in Southern France. It was designed to accommodate 16 pieces created by Picasso between 1947 and 1971 in the Madoura workshop and dedicated to its founder and owner, the ceramist Suzanne Ramié (1905-1974).

Their apartment on avenue Foch in Paris was brimming with treasures, from paintings by Derain and Kisling to a pietra dura (hardstone) table and elegant jewelry.

The Lady with the Little Dog, a 1917 oil on canvas, signed and dated, joins the collections of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Limoges for €56,670. The institution had dedicated a virtual exhibition to the artist in 2020.

With 157 numbers sold, this sale devoted to jewellery made an overall total of €1.5 M, ending on a high point after a half-year already marked by the fine results of the jewellery department at Aguttes, an auction house, well-positioned in the pearl market....
