LELIÈVRE (EUGÈNE-ALFRED) - TIFFANY SILVER COFFEE POT CIRCA 1880 ART NOUVEAU Large solid silver coffee pot with flat bottom, ovoid body and carved ebony handle, set with an umbel flower design. The same decoration is found under the spout and on the hinged lid. Dimensions: Height: 26 cm - width: 19 cm - base diameter: 13 cm Material : 1st quality silver 950/°°. Weight: 1000 grams Marked : MINERVE Period : ART NOUVEAU circa 1880 Goldsmith : E. LELIEVRE Provenance: Edward CHANDLER MOORE (1827/1891) Director of the TIFFANY workshop. - Belongs to the H. Collection, descended from the previous owner. Many pieces from his collection are exhibited at the M.M.A. in NEW-YORK. LELIÈVRE (Eugène-Alfred), pupil of Messrs. Mittenholf and Philippe May. - Boulevard. Richard-Lenoir, Paris born in 1856, in Montmartre, at the end of his life in 1945 he lived at 16 rue du grand prieuré Paris 16-ème. His studio was at 14 bis rue des Minimes, Paris. Lelievre exhibited at La Société des Artistes Décorateurs, La Société des Artistes Français and La Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. EXHIBITION DES ARTISTES DECORATEURS in the 1906 issue of Le Panthéon de l'industrie.
