She is considered one of the most important figures in the field of modern design and architecture. After her studies, she moved to New York, where she met Hans Knoll, a German businessman. They married in 1946 and founded Knoll Associates, where Florence served as vice president. The company is growing rapidly and will become one of the largest in the field of modern furniture in the United States. Knoll is an American company manufacturing office furniture and equipment. It was founded in 1938 by Hans Knoll, an entrepreneur of German origin. With his wife Florence Knoll, he developed the company and made it one of the most creative and prolific of the post-war period. Both create a “Knoll style”; they imposed their vision of development thanks to the Planning Unit (“planning service”), a unique service of its kind for the time, combining interior architecture, design, production, textiles, graphics. After the death of her husband in 1955, Florence replaced Hans at the head of the company. In 1965, she left the company. Like Herman Miller, Knoll's importance in 20th century design is considerable.
