A pupil and friend of Rubens, he was an excellent portraitist and became the first court painter for King Charles I of England. A painting of notable pictorial quality which can be found in particular in the realization of Christ's complexion and in the dramatic rendering of the atmosphere. Spectacular 20th century frame in carved and gilded wood, highly decorative.
