A Louis XVI Period (1774 - 1793) Bouillotte Table. A Louis XVI period mahagony bouillotte table opening with two drawers and two pull outs, one drawer with four compartments. Fluted tapering legs. White Carrare marble top decorated with a pierced gallery. Original bronze gilding on mercury. Very nice Louis XVI period Parisian work. 18th century. France. Dimensions : Hauteur : 74 cm ; Diameter : 54 cm. Together with the bouillotte lamp, the bouillotte table is born thanks to the bouillotte game. The bouillotte game is a card game appeared in the 18th century, its rules are based on the "brelan", a card game based on the players bets appeared in the 17th century. The bouillotte game is considered as one of the games that had influenced the variations of the poker.
