Saint Blaise . Carved, gilded and polychromed wooden sculpture. Gothic. 14th century. The saint is depicted as a bishop with a mitre, which corresponds with his position in life. In his right hand he would have held the crozier, which is missing, and gloves. He lifts his hand to his throat, a gesture which is an allusion to the miracle he performed by curing a youth who had been left to die by doctors as he was choking on a fishbone. 68 x 17 x 14 cm.
