WALKING STICK China, Qing Dynasty, Late 19th century Made of red lacquered knotty wood, the termination is covered with metal. It is carved with various motifs in high relief including Liu Hai and the three-legged toad, a calabash, a kind of ibex and, at the grip, Shoulao holding his beard in his left hand. Has a vernacular inscription engraved on it dating from 1866: "大清同治五年[...]".
