ANNUARY of the Imperial Corps of Bridges and Roads for the year 1812. Seventh year. Paris, Goeury, 1812.
In-12 (167 x 97 mm) of an engraved frontispiece, XIX, 310 pp., 1 folding table; marbled calf, triple gilded net framing the plates, imperial coat of arms in the centre, ribbed back decorated with the number N crowned, marbled edges (period binding).
Interesting directory, "a kind of manual for administrative offices and for all engineers, citing laws and decrees... relating to navigation, roads, etc." (Introduction). In particular, it contains information on the progress of work on the "Paris-Hamburg and Seine-Baltic communications". The last pages are occupied by the complete table of the Imperial Corps of Bridge and Road Engineers.
Beautiful engraved frontispiece.
Some freckles; upper jaw with old restoration, rubbed.
