CENDRARS, Blaise & Angel ZARRAGA.
Deep today. Prose by Mr. Blaise
Cendrars, and 5 drawings by Mr. A. Zarraga. Paris, La Belle Édition, 1917. In-8 square, paperback, illustrated cover, shirt case.
Original illustrated edition of 5 cubist compositions by the Mexican painter Angel Zarraga.
A fundamental poetic text for the author, Cendrars expresses the acceptance of his mutilated arm, thus allowing him a rebirth both human and creative.
Copy bearing this autograph to Jean Cocteau: "to Jean Cocteau/this preface/Blaise Cendrars/7 Oct. 1917".
A source of great resonance, in 1917 the two men were particularly close and would work as co-directors of the famous publication of the Siren's publishing house.
One of the 26 copies of Chapel on laid H.C. literate from A to Z. It is signed and written by Cendrars.
The Chapel print was kept by the author because at the time of the broaching - the pages were not numbered - the printer accidentally changed the order of the pages, thus giving his 26 numbers a "cubist" distinction from the rest of the print.
Old restoration on the cover, with a perfect exemplary rest.
Origin: Jean Cocteau (sent).
