"My dear Lamartine, Mr. Marie told Mr. Surville, my brother-in-law to whom you promised your recommendation, that you had told him nothing about him. As you told me when we met on City Hall Square that this was done, I believe that then the Minister of Public Works would fail to take your kindness into account. So please talk to him again today, if you see him, because there is a job being done where my brother-in-law would have a place"....
