CLETON-LYONS PONSONBY Marie-Céleste (Mia) (1885-): "Indonesian carrier in seated sarong, Djokja 1928", charcoal and pastel on signed and dated paper bg, in a frame - 73,5 x 70 cm.
Mia CLETON-LYONS was a student of W. OTTO in Bremen and a pupil of Professor FIEDLER in Dresden. She married the artist CLETON and settled in Indonesia in 1920. She was a member of the Batavian painters' group and participated in many exhibitions. She also worked in book illustration. This drawing is located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
