BERCHMANS Emile Winter Varieties La Dame aux Camélias Piece by Dumas Fils circa 1900 La Dame aux Camélias - known as Camille in English - was Alexandre Dumas' 1848 semi-autobiographical account of the affair of a bourgeois gentleman with a tubercular courtesan, Marguerite. Wearing a red camellia when she was menstruating and unavailable, and a white camellia when available, she was the camellia lady.
