Italie - XVIIIe siècle TABLE DE MILIEU Coniferous wood, golden linden and polychrome lacquered H. 79 cm, W. 136 cm, D. 87 cm Chips and decorations This middle table with a scrolled shape has a richly carved gilded and lacquered wood frame supporting a fake marble painted top. The belt is decorated with scrolls and large acanthus leaves, as is the base, joined by a central spacer with a floral and foliage motif. The richness of the sculpture is characteristic of 18th-century Italian creations, where the naturalistic treatment of plants and the abundance of ornamentation take precedence over the very architecture of the piece of furniture.
