UNKNOWN BRAND (BREAKFAST, BREAKFAST or CHICORY?), BETTERWAY automaton, Vienna, Austria, circa 1930. Automatic window display in painted cut-out wood, electromechanical 110 volt. It portrays a family at breakfast featuring the mother, her three children and their small dog around a table, all with coordinated movements. The movements are produced by a small electric motor that drives rods. 80x73x41 cm. (In working order) Reproduced under N°71 page 66 of "Automates publicitaires" by Daniel Bordet.
