Louis XIV - Conseil d'Etat privé - Etats-généraux] 5 pieces, 1652 to 1714 P.S. "Louis", Pontoise, 26 July 1652, and countersigned by Louis PHELYPEAUX secretary of state, woveove paper, obl. in-fol. (folds), appointing Charles Bénigne de THESUT, counsellor at the parliament of Burgundy in Dijon, to the office of counsellor of state at the king's private Council of State (or Council of the parties). This council, presided over by the Chancellor of France or by the Keeper of the Seals, was originally composed of 24 conseillers d'état de robe, 3 conseillers d'état d'église and 3 conseillers d'état d'épée. It intervenes essentially to judge civil lawsuits opposing individuals, as well as, when necessary, to regulate the order of the courts]. - P.S. "Louis", Thionville, July 25, 1673, and countersigned by PHELYPEAUX secretary of state, 1 page vellum page obl. in-fol. ; Commission on a decision of the Privy Council of State granting the closing of the accounts of receipts to Nicolas DORSON, receiver general of finances of the generality of Riom. Attached is the extract of the ruling of the Conseil d'état privé, 2 pages ½ vellum in-4 - P.S. "Louis", Fontainebleau, 4 September 1714, and countersigned by Jérôme PHELYPEAUX de PONTCHARTRAIN, secretary of state of the king's house, address "A notre amé et feal le sieur Baron de Rouairoux" [famille de CAYLUS], 1 page on vellum wheat. in-4; letter of convocation to the States-General of the province of Languedoc which was to meet in the city of Nîmes on October 25, 1714. Joint : P.S. by Adrien de VALOIS, Paris, 15 December 1670, wove vellum oblate in-8 ; receipt from the town hall of Paris granted to Adrien de VALOIS historian, poet and historiographer of the king.
