Two pendulum knockers.
One chiselled with a dragon, in the shape of a hammer with a flat, diamond-shaped, heavy metal handle, on which rests a long dragon chiselled with its mouth open, its wings folded along its ovoid body, its thin tail with several windings. The piece is summoned horizontally by a cylindrical axis, which lacks the two fixing rings that held it in place.
Wrought and chiselled iron.
Undoubtedly French work from the 15th or early 16th century.
Height: 21 cm
The second zoomorphic, extremely stylized, has a strong flat stem, one end of which, swollen into a truncated cylinder, is chiselled with concentric rings on the sides and a face roughly treated from the front. At the other end rises an S-shaped tail ending in a small crenellated funnel. Between the two, the body has a pair of wings in the middle of the body, which are applied to the sides. Its entire surface is chiselled successively with chevrons and then with chamfered ornaments.
