Furniture key in pierced iron, finely chiselled and engraved in the spirit of Mathurin Jousse's models. The ring is richly ornamented with horns of plenty chiselled with foliage. They enclose an oval hollowed-out medallion, surmounted by an anvil motif and resting on a small base. The top of the ring is crowned by a pediment chiseled with volutes, itself surmounted by a small baluster. The boss is chiselled with an ionic capital enriched with acanthus foliage. Drilled stem with a diamond-shaped section with curved sides. Bit with double projecting snout and rake, cruciform spinning wheels. Very nice model derived from Mathurin Jousse's drawings combining the spirit of a spanner and a chimera key. French work from the late 16th or early 17th century. Dimensions: 14,5 cm Ring thickness: 8 mm - Capital thickness: 19 mm Reference: Piece in the same spirit: Le Secq des Tournelles collection, plate 75
