Chamberlain's key in gilt bronze from the 18th century. The almost oval ring, with a slightly scrolled contour, scalloped inside, encloses an H carried by an open heart. A small upside down cross rests on the horizontal bar of the H. The boss is a hollowed-out parallelepiped. The successively ringed, gadrooned, guilloché stem bears a thin bezel with the letters A and M intertwined. A threaded rod above the ring would have supported an ornament that has now disappeared.
Chased and gilded bronze.
Foreign work from the 18th century.
