France - Époque Louis XV PAIR OF BRONZE CANONS Bronze with brown patina, blackened wood and wrought iron H. 23 cm, W. 36 cm, D. 60 cm This pair of Valliere type cannons features bronze tubes engraved with a coat of arms and added handles in the shape of dolphins. The mount is made of blackened wood with wrought-iron mounts. Gifts, arsenal models or toys, these "small artillery models" were very fashionable in the 18th century.
