Sigismund KOLOS VARY (1899-1983), "Abstract Composition, 1959-1961". Oil on canvas, signed and dated lower right. 130 x 160 cm. Provenance: Family of the artist. In Hungary, Kolos Vary studied at the Fine Arts School in Budapest before travelling in Europe and settling in Paris where he received commissions for dessi- ner advertising. In his early paintings one can see the influence of surrealism, which was very much in vogue at the time. Expert: Marc OTTAVI
