LARGE BASIN TASSIN with swollen belly, hemmed lip, made of copper alloy with engraved decoration enhanced with black paste. Several registers of braided friezes, interlacing, lotus or calligraphy interrupted by medallions. In the centre, a main band alternating cartouches and poly-lobed medallions, the former calligraphic or geometrically decorated, the latter decorated with scrolled scrolls. Inscriptions in thuluth or braided kufic script give honorary titles in Arabic such as 'The King of the World' or 'al-sultan al-zahir'.Iran, 18th century
