Exceptional, very fine and original HEREKE silk signed, brocaded with gold metal threads, in relief (Turkey), around 1960
1.1 million knots per square meter.
A magnificent deep navy blue field, delimited by a pointed mihrab, covered with abjad writing on a gold canetille, frames a ruby vase from which superb multicoloured corollas are extracted, surrounded by delicate flowering stems and lotus spandrels, overhung by an oblong cartouche brocaded with abjad calligraphy. The ruby vault with vegetal decoration supports a brocaded lintel with writing. Multiple counter-borders with garlands of flowers and saw-tooth surround the main old gold cartouche with brocaded cartouches in gold metal, where Abjad characters intermingle with sky and emerald vegetal foliage, they are separated by brick and ivory cruciform flowers. Curious chequered embroidery on each head. Prayer rug of great prestige.
