Withdrawal of the first collective edition of Balzac.
It is illustrated with a portrait of Balzac and 132 (out of 152) non-text plates, printed on tinted paper, engraved by Brévière, Tamisier, Lavieille, Godard..., after Meissonnier, Johannot, Bertall, Monnier, Gavarni.
A nicely bound copy by Petit, bookbinder to Bazas, who worked at the end of the 19th century. Repeated ex-libris by L. Léveque.
