Victor BRAUNER. Wall murmur. October 6, 1943. Wax engraved and enhanced on cardboard (175 x 135 mm), captioned on the reverse. Wonderful original wax engraved and signed by Victor Brauner with sending : a mon ami andré breton l'admiration intact de victor brauner juillet 1945 The wax is signed and dated 6 october 1943 lower right. The title, in ink, "Murmur of the wall", appears on the back. The wax technique, experimented with from 1942 onwards, has continued to evolve in Brauner's work. Here the colour is first applied and then covered with a transparent wax layer, which is then incised.
