A rare, Roman, museum-quality muzzle from a bridle, 2nd to 3rd century Cast in finely wrought bronze, partially openworked, fantastic state of preservation, with a greenish patina. Fully intact. On a contemporary pedestal. Dimensions 18 x 13 x 19 cm. A detailed description of this muzzle was published in Éperonnerie et parure du cheval, Eliane et Guy de la Bosselière. Provenance: In a private Belgian collection since the 1980s. Condition: II - III Condition Report: In beautiful, original condition. The greenish patina with slight traces of oxidation.
