A Swabian sculpture of St Sebastian, circa 1520
The fully sculptured figure carved in lime wood with the original, partially gilt paintwork. A depiction of the saint unclothed apart from a loincloth, with long curly hair and a short chin beard. His right arm tied above him to a tree, his left shackled behind his back. Some of the arrows and bolts piercing his body still preserved. Height 88.5 cm.

Condition Report:
The paintwork on the edges rubbed in places. Small imperfections in the paintwork on the back of the loincloth, some of the front section
reworked. Slight worm damage here and there on the tree trunk.
