A North French Madonna in alabaster, 16th century
The Madonna fully sculptured in alabaster, with a fine rendering of the hair and the folds of her robes. Dimensions 97 x 29 x 22 cm.
Provenance: The statue comes from the old family estate of a large noble house in the south of Belgium (Horta, lot 173, 26 & 27 February 2018).
Condition: II - III
Condition Report:
Knocked in places with some evidence of old restoration, the right hand is lost.
