Wrought iron spice or coffee grinder with the signature "R." under the lid. Martin Laynez" and two crowned dolphin punches and a heart. The lid is hinged with a mantling flap. The funnel-shaped body rests on a base with a drawer. The pushbutton is in the shape of a grotesque mask, and the crank cover is in the shape of a cup. The flower-shaped vice. It rests on four legs. Saint Etienne, early 18th century. H:25.5 cm. An identical model at the Secq des Tournelles Museum in Rouen. Posterior crank, fixing of the lower part of the hinge replaced. The spice mills which could also be used to grind coffee multiplied at the end of the 17th century. They have a funnel. The grinding is done using a crank, the powder being served in a small drawer located in the base.
