CENDRARS Blaise (1887-1961) Signed autograph letter addressed to his friend Jacques-Henri LÉVESQUE Aix-en-Provence, 13 [September 1945]. 1 page in-4 in brown ink on paper on the back of a typed page of L'Homme foudroyé, envelope preserved. Nice letter concerning the next publication of L'Homme foudroyé. "...my stories are 'blocked' on the grounds that they are... inaccurate and that today's audience wants the..." ...fiction. The truth is that editorial secretaries want to be leaders when, like in Confluences, they don't serve scissors! - As with the fragments of The Thunderbolt Man, these detached accounts give you no idea of the book's allure". He admits to being very late in his work, for several reasons, including his poor eyesight, the very complicated correction of the proofs, but also events and disgust. "...] Moreover, as the Ecclesiastes says: ... there is no end to the making of many books; and so much study is only work that one gives oneself [...]". Jacques-Henri Lévesque, writer, critic and founder of the review Orbes, is the author of a work devoted to Blaise Cendrars.
