Hitchcock faces a dilemma: he is very honoured by the invitation he receives but cannot accept it. Because of his job, he cannot schedule a trip because there is a good chance he will be in the middle of shooting. In the end,
Hitchcock did not film that year; his last thriller, Frenzy, was released in early June 1972.
