A VERY FINE TRIPTYCH SHOWING THE ANNUNCIATION, THE DEISIS AND SAINTS Greek, 16th century Tempera on wood panels with carved frames. The central panel shows Christ enthroned with the open Gospel, flanked by the Virgin and John the Baptist in supplication. The upper part of the left leaf displays St. Nicholas, and the other one shows a saint in bishop's attire. The lower part is occupied by equestrian Sts. George and Demetrios. The closed wings showing the Annunciation. On gilt ground, minor losses, minimally restored. 41.5 x 30 cm (closed). very fine triptych with the Annunciation, the Deesis and Selected Holy Greece, 16th century wood, partly carved plastically Egg tempera on chalk ground, gold ground. 41.5 x 30 cm (closed). The outer wings are decorated with a fine painting of the archangel Gabriel, who brings the message of pregnancy to Mary. The central field inside shows Christ sitting on a throne, flanked by the Mother of God and John the Baptist. On the wings appear two saints in episcopal vestments and the saints George and Demetrius. Edges partly dam., slightly rest.
