A fine German engraved silver and vermeil snuff box, 17th century
Silver, gold-plated inside. Box in stylized shell shape with elegant engravings. On the lid a gallant couple in baroque costume surrounded by splendid ornaments in tendril, flower, rocaille and scallop ornaments. The lower side with a crowned coat of arms, flanked by griffins and decorated with shells and floral ornaments. Inside with original fire gilding. Slight signs of age and wear. Gilding slightly rubbed. No hallmarks. Dimensions 6 x 8 x 3 cm. Weight 91,5 g.
