A Venetian antique-style folding stool, Italy, circa 1600
The wrought iron folding stool with decorative iron rosettes appliquéd on both sides. The bronze armrests with a beautiful age patina. The poles with ornamental discs and balusters, four large knobs with relief decoration. The seat composed of five strips of leather. Dimensions 65 x 84.5 x 45 cm. An unusual Renaissance chair modelled after the antique Roman sella castrensis.
