A Flemish miniature ebony cabinet case with engraved copper plaques, 1st half of the 17th century
Softwood with ebony veneer. The rectangular cabinet case on four flattened ball feet. The doors decorated with coffering and slatted borders on both sides, the inset copper plaque with engraved décor. The front with a lansquenet and Christ on the cross, a depiction of the Virgin Mary and St John on the inside. The interior comprises seven drawers in oak. The copper plaques with strip borders appliquéd on the front, featuring a variety of antique tableaux. Secret compartments with four small drawers at the side behind the central drawer. Dimensions 22 x 22 x 14 cm.
