Vishnu South India, around the 15th century, Vijayanagar period Copper alloy. Height : 41 cm Provenance: Paris collection 2008-2020 Christie's Paris, June 2008 European collection, acquired in 1975 Sitting in royal ease, the god wears a high tiara and is richly adorned with bracelets, necklace and sacred cord. He holds in his hands the attributes that identify him, the wheel and the conch. Important sculpture in size and quality, characteristic of the beautiful bronzes of South India.
