Pastiche)._x000D_ ORIGINAL EDITION IN LATIN OF THIS INCUNABLE most abundantly illustrated, masterpiece of the history of printing. The illustration includes more than 1800 superb woodcut figures by Michael Wolgemut and Wilhelm Pleydenwurff, printed after 645 different woods, including many biblical scenes, portraits of saints, emperors, kings, princes etc... Numerous representations of cities, including 29 on double page, an armoured double plate (f.CLXXXIII - f.CLXXXIIII), a world map (f.XIII) and a map of Europe on double page in-fine. Anton Koberger was in charge of the printing and publication of these chronicles. Wolgemuth was Dürer's master and apprentice from 1486 to 1589. Compiled by the Nuremberg humanist, physician and scholar Hartmann Schedel (1460-1508). _x000D_ Missing are the title page with a blank back, a table page, the text pages (f.1- f.5 - f.6 - f.7- f.16 - f.17) and a blank f. at the end. Each missing sheet has been replaced by a white sheet of paper. Heavy central and marginal wetting at the beginning and end of the book, qq. worm galleries. Sheets CCXCII to CCXCIX reinforced with heavy wetting. CCLIX, CCLX and CCLXI pages remained white, unencrypted. Large restoration in f.
