1954 MOTO GUZZI FALCONE 500 SPORT Succession of Mr. X Type : Falcone 500 Sport Engine no. C76549 French car registration document Moto Guzzi has been a well-known brand since the end of the 1960s for its production of large-displacement transverse V-Twins, but from its beginnings in 1921, the Mandello del Lario factory was known above all for its 500 horizontal single-cylinder cc's. Even if the production will also include more classic models like the small 50 cc Guzzino and the 250 cc Lodola or atypical ones like the Galletto, the big horizontal single-cylinder was for a long time the brand image of Moto Guzzi. After the Second World War, it is therefore quite natural that Moto Guzzi restarted the production of its 500 GTV and GTW but, very quickly, the The need for a new model was felt and in 1950 the Falcone was introduced. With an engine that benefited from the experience gained with the racing Dandolino and the touring 250 Airone, the Falcone was equipped with a high all-aluminium engine with enclosed valves and still the external flywheel that earned it the affectionate nickname of "ham cutter". This flywheel reduces vibrations, improves torque and guarantees a very wide range of use, resulting in exceptional driving comfort for the time. Buyers are reminded that the entire collection consists of motorcycles that have remained static in the collector's private museum for several years. A restart is therefore necessary.
