1956 PEUGEOT BOL D'OR 175 Succession of Mr. X Type : 175 Bol d'Or Engine no. 856906 In the fifties in France, the queen category in the race was the 175 cc category. The 125 cm3 are forbidden to compete and the higher categories are the domain of foreign motorcycles. The Bol d'Or It is almost in spite of himself that Peugeot will collect an enviable sporting record: the great architect of this record, from 1952 to 1960, will be Bouin d'Orléans, preparer and racer, to whom Lacour and Goll must be joined. June 1952: Peugeot decides to prepare five 175 "factory" cars for the 24th Bol d'Or. Bouin wins the 175 cc class at an average speed of 89.529 km/h, largely beating the old record, but also those of the 250 and 350 cc class; Goll finishes 8th, beating the old record nonetheless. We would like to thank Mr François-Marie Dumas for his help with the general description of the model. We remind buyers that the entire collection is made up of motorcycles that have remained static in the collector's private museum for several years. A restart is therefore necessary.
