A tall bronze Hannukah lamp
Galicia, circa 1800
The look of this lamp is inspired by the architectural design of typical synagogue façades which were common in Galicia at the time. The upper cartouche contains the text « light the lights of Hanukkah » written in gold colour. The lamp has two serving lights (shamash) making it also usable for lightening shabbat candles.
